Deviousness |
I always wondered how photographers made those detailed photos of the entire image, since the focus of the cameras I've used only focused on one depth if wanting more detail.
It was so simple, yet I couldn't figure out till now.
With something like a standard perfume bottle, it might be just at the limit of how close one can get with a standard non-macro lens (especially if there's no fancy pump like there is here occupying a distinct focal point). And the higher the megapixel count, the more one can afford to crop his picture down in case he wasn't able to fill the frame. But the smaller an objet gets, the more necessary a macro lens becomes.
That's why you might see a lot of pictures out of focus here on dA, especially in the crafts section where the objects are small in size. They don't quite know the limitations of their cameras and might not have a macro lens, so they do what they can, photograph their crafts up close, and the result is a blur. You'll find the same thing on websites likes ebay and etsy, it's not only limited to dA, and its kind of understandable. When you've spent so much time and effort specializing in one field of art like crafts, it's a pain having to start over with another field like photography.
Thanks for giving some of your time to explaining me your knowledge
I totally appreciate it, and love to know a bit more. And a plus is you give understandable explanations, which aren't very common in the environment.
