Front side of an antique Happy New Year postcard dating from 1908. With the arrival of 2013 and the Maya apocalypse behind us, I thought this card would provide a good opportunity to wish everyone all the best this New Year :-)

While the design of this card is considered to be in the public domain, I hope you can appreciate my considerable efforts to scan and process it for high resolution display. As such, please do not claim the image as your own, and if possible, I would very much like to know how you put it to good use.

This scan is also available for download at 5000 x 3141 px for a small premium of 50 points. Most everything else including my stock rules remain the same, except this premium download gives you access to a much larger version of the picture.

Beautiful art. Is there any indication who the artist was? Also: do you know what the significance of the pig is? I've never associated pigs with luck, I wonder perhaps if it's a regional or historical significance.
