Grunge Bless America - Precut PNG Stock by somadjinn Grunge Bless America - Precut PNG Stock by somadjinn

Grunge textured flag of the United States on an abstract acrylic surface placed inside the shape of its own continental map.

Technically not a precut image, but rather pretraced in Illustrator then exported to Photoshop with a clipping mask to place the flag inside the map. Still a PNG image against a transparent background though, so for all intents & purposes it is much easier just to call it a precut =p

Special thanks to Lara Mukahirn :icontheparasiticbandaid: for painting the acrylic textures I blended together to give the flag & map more depth :) I have chosen to release this image for free without watermark at a large resolution of 4000 x 2807 px, but because the file size is around 13 MB, you will need to click on Download to view and save at full size.

Last year I was approved for a US Green Card and moved here from Canada. Was a super long application process, but in the end I am very happy to call this country my new home (well my new old home as I grew up here) =D Just as I’ve previously dedicated stock towards friends & talented artists from this community, I would like to dedicate this image as a tribute to America in general. Despite all the dissenting opinions and political divides, I’ve traveled, networked and met enough people to realize that our common bonds make us stronger:

Life is sweet because of friends we have made
And the things which in common we share

We want to live on, not because of ourselves
But because of the people who care

It’s in giving, and doing for somebody else
On all that life’s splendors depends

And the joys of this life when you’ve summed it all up
Are found in the making of friends

(Author Unknown - from an old wood sign at home)

A particularly touching verse as I chose to borrow them when delivering my own father’s eulogy in order to cherish his memory and charismatic spirit. By that token the whole world over is blessed with exceptional people who would put everything aside to care for their friends, just wanted to make this deviation a little more personal and relevant to the United States to express how grateful I am for all the opportunities I have been given. I am also happy to do what I can to return the favour as a stock provider.

As a special request I would like to invoke the moral rights clause from my standard Creative Commons License, in that this image cannot be used in any way to promote hate. If you read this far, I trust you understand why, but as a grunge textured image you are still welcome to use it in darker subject matter just as long as it remains in good artistic taste. Otherwise hope you enjoy :)

Thanks Saim! Not sure if I would call it my homeland as I'm still proud of my Canadian and Welsh heritage, but I love America all the same as I grew up here from ages 2-18 and came back 14 years later. It's like a part of me in a greater whole if that makes any sense :)

REMEMBER: There are 35 sovereign states in "America"

Didn't know the number, but you're right. It is however common for people throughout the world to simply call it America instead of United States of America.

yes. that's why I mention it.
everyone says it and become accustomed.
you can tell them USA, EEUU, United States ...
or say it in the derogatory version, very common in Latin America: yanquees.
