Not too sure what to make of this (or how to categorize it for that matter), but I like experimenting with abstracts. Started out with the following tutorial: [link]

Went about as far as Step 3 (out of 9) then improvised =p Liked the idea of blurring the background and tweaking the colour balance, so I used the following picture from my own gallery to achieve that effect: [link]

The rest of the tutorial, I wasn't too crazy about, partially because I was too lazy to brush in the white glow manually, but also because I dislike making any type of marquee selection. Instead, I used the pen tool to trace contours between the colour contrasted areas in the blurred image, then applied a combination of inner glows, subtle shadows, and various gradients with mixed opacities & blend modes to render this piece.

So this came from that photo? That is pretty neat. I like where you went with this piece, it is quite different from what the tutorial was aiming for.
