Grunge textured variant of a picture I took in Beaver Brook, New Brunswick (Canada): [link]
I've been used to grunging many flags up, but with photographs I had to adopt an entirely different approach for reasons I don't want to bore you with But to give you an idea, it means the difference between blending an image over texture (flags) versus blending texture over image (photos).
In this case, I used multiple texture overlays, and besides my own, I would like to thank hibbary from dA for providing one of them included in her very awesome texture pack: [link]
Otherwise, I processed the colours from my original photo for a more vintage feel. Where the original is an HDR composite (a virtual alien to vintage photography), so I deliberately toned the saturation down, but still tried to inject a touch of sepia warmth.
Thanks Mike I would still like to credit hibbary again for providing one of the textures ([link]), which is literally a painted surface. I was in for a very pleasant shock after unzipping her texture pack, every single one looks absolutely gorgeous.
